Can Hypnosis Help to Make You Pregnant?

Hypnotherapy has been shown in clinical trials to double the success rate of IVF treatment – with such clear benefits as these, why not get in touch to book an appointment?
Approximately one in eight couples in the UK has difficulty conceiving – that’s 3.5 million people, according to the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority.

If you've received a diagnosis of "unexplained infertility" also known as psychogenic infertility after undergoing medical tests, you may be feeling confused, frustrated, stressed and anxious about your inability to become pregnant. However, you should in fact be seeing this as good news: it means there is no physical reason stopping you from becoming pregnant. This diagnosis is medical proof that you are not infertile, and that you can indeed have a child.

Family

Give yourself the best possible chance of success with the help of hypnotherapy. Stress is one of the biggest factors in stopping you conceiving and it is hard to remain relaxed each month when you get your period while your friends are announcing that they are pregnant. However, in recent years, researchers have found a link between stress and infertility. Women who are constantly under stress produce prolactin, cortisol, adrenaline, noradrenaline and other hormones which can interfere with, or even block, regular ovulation.

This can be stress around getting pregnant, but also from the pressures at work, financial pressures and so on. Although there has been an explosion of people turning to fertility drugs and in-vitro fertilisation, doctors are increasingly now looking to alternative treatments to help patients conceive.

Psychological therapies "essential to IVF"
A study by Poehl et al showed 56.4 per cent of women who received psychological therapies (hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and relaxation) conceived. The study concluded that psychological therapy should be "an essential aspect of IVF".

Clients looking for help with fertility must be prepared to commit to between 4 and 6 sessions in order for meaningful change to take place. Each person responds differently, some women have become pregnant after just one session whereas others require many more than 6 sessions.

At the Bridge Clinic we have a specialist in fertility and childbirth. We are fully qualified in helping women optimise themselves both mentally and emotionally for conception and birth.
