Insomnia

Having a good night's sleep is one of our natural born rights and there are no reasons why you should suffer from not being able to sleep.

What causes insomnia?
There are many reasons for insomnia, depression, stress, excessive worry, and trauma or something as simple as having been a shift worker for a period in your life.
Insomnia often starts with one of the above problems and over a period of time of no sleep you can start to believe you will never sleep. You then naturally fear the nighttime, lying there for hours unable to sleep. And its this fear which can cause even more anxiety and stress making it hard to get to sleep.

Sleepy woman

Using my own personal experience of insomnia, and my training as Cognitive Behavioral Hypnotherapist, I want to help other people who suffer like I used to do. Using the combined approach of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Hypnotherapy I can help you to achieve a rejuvenating regular night's sleep.

There are many techniques to assist with sleep disorders but the effectiveness of hypnosis and practical advice will ensure that your sleep patterns return to normal. Since 2001 I have been helping people fall asleep quickly and get a quality deep sleep, and to date I have helped dozens of insomniacs sleep soundly.

Because insomnia is often caused by stress, hypnotherapy can be used to learn relaxation techniques, and to train the mind to slow down when your body is getting ready for sleeping. Hypnotherapy is especially useful if insomnia is caused by excessive worrying or excessive emotional or mental arousal, where the mind simply cannot stop ruminating.

What we do know is insomnia weakens the immune system and also impacts upon our ability to think clearly and function well. Factors linked to sleeplessness and other problems with sleep include:
Anxiety and stress
Excessive emotional arousal
Depression
Pain
Misuse of stimulants

Hypnosis teaches you how to relax physically and mentally. You learn to take control and to use natural ways to fall asleep. Your sub-conscious mind has memories of deep, restful sleep. Hypnosis helps you to re-educate your mind into relaxing, and reintroduces your brain to healthy sleeping patterns.

Hypnosis is the natural, long-term solution to disrupted sleeping patterns. It provides you with the tools you need to turn a restless night into a good night’s sleep. The positive effects of sleeping well include increased energy levels, consistently good moods and improved self-esteem.

Hypnotherapy and hypnosis can also help you to relax and let go of distracting thoughts. As you learn the cues for sleep and develop positive associations you will begin to create a new habit that can break the pattern of consciously trying to sleep.

Insomnia can be caused by a medical problem and for this reason a check up with your GP is advisable before seeking any other therapies, including hypnosis insomnia therapy.
