Procrastination Procrastination is the counterproductive habit of deferring tasks to a later time or date and while it may be normal for us all to procrastinate to some extent it can be extremely detrimental if it gets out of control. In some cases procrastination can be a symptom of underlying problems including: Like many habits or behaviours, procrastination can escalate until it takes its toll on general or mental health. Feelings of guilt, stress, pressure and apprehensiion can build up in turn feeding the procrastination process and fuelling the cycle. Generally speaking, there are two types of procrastinator – the relaxed type, whose procrastination is worry-free and selective, and the tense type, whose procrastination carries with it the feelings of guilt, failure and anxiety.
